WAMGOC WEEKEND AWAY IN SOMERSET 2012

The weekend away has been arranged from Friday 15th June to Sunday 17th June 2012 (although, of course, you can stay longer!)  The Walking Treasure Hunt will take place on Saturday 16th June in our village, Milverton.   What I suggest is that everyone arrives at the Victoria Rooms (the village hall) in time to start the walk at 2pm.   The Treasure Hunt should take no more than 2 hours and then it is back to the Victoria Rooms for a cream tea (there will be a cost for this with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of the hall).   We would then like to invite everyone back to our house for an evening barbecue.

The Apple Tree Hotel at Nether Stowey on the A39 near Bridgwater is a privately run hotel.   It can accommodate 24 people in 12 en suite bedrooms and there are also a couple of single rooms.   The hotel is set in large gardens with plenty of parking.   The cost for bed and full English breakfast is £47.50 per person per night.   The owner will also provide a buffet dinner on either the Friday or Sunday evening, consisting of hot and cold dishes and a selection of desserts for under £20.00 per person.   If more than 24 people wish to come along, there are a number of bed and breakfast establishments nearby and there is also a large campsite/caravan park about a mile away.   Of course, everyone could meet up for the evening meals.
